ZAPcover™

Rauckman Utility Products Outage Protection devices (ZAPcover, Bushing Cover and Stinger Cover) are designed and tested to minimize animal related outages without compromising equipment performance. All of Rauckman's animal mitigation devices increase reliability while decreasing unplanned interruptions of service.

ZAPCover

Rauckman Utility Products ZAPcover is similar to other Rauckman Outage Protection bushing covers in form and fit but is equipped with 2 panels (with Rauck-Shock™ Technology) that deliver a non-lethal shock when contacted by an animal. The ZAPcover has been designed and tested to minimize animal related outages without compromising distribution equipment performance.

The ZAPcover may be installed on distribution & substation equipment bushings of 15 kV and 25 kV. For other voltages consult factory.

Unlike traditional polymer covers, ZAPcovers combine the following characteristics essential for flawless performance:
 

	Higher Ultra-Violet (UV) stability including Hindered Amine Light Stabilization (HALS)
	Superior Electrical Properties by using a track- resistant high dielectric material that remains stable even in the most severe environments
	Flame Retardant properties certified to the V-0 criteria of Underwriters’ Laboratory Standard of UL-94
	The Zap panels use the same base polymer as the grey cover, but also contain special fibers that provide the Zap characteristics.

RUP Bushing Cover

Rauckman Utility Products’ Bushing Covers are formulated from a silicone enriched elastomer formulated specifically for the extreme requirements of the electric utility industry.

Covers combine the three characteristics essential for
flawless performance:

RUP Stinger Covers are designed to increase system reliability by reducing wildlife related outages.

Stinger Covers are track resistant and made from a silicone enriched elastomer specially formulated for the rigorous requirements of the electric utility industry.

RUP Stinger Covers are offered in 3 diameters, each available in a variety of lengths. All sizes are pre-slit with a generous material overlap. The overlapping lip is created using a unique manufacturing process that provides material memory while preserving flexibility.
